History of the OJC

The OJC was founded in 1842, and the present building was constructed in 1973 on this site. Extensive rebuilding and refurbishment was completed in 2004.

Midweek café at the OJC

There will be a light lunch of homemade soup and a sandwich/beigel with cheeses, tuna or eggs and choice of vegetables all for a very reasonable £2 per head. If you are in town anyway, out shopping or looking for a chat, we are open to any members of the OJC who would like to pop in. Everyone welcome .

New community coffee morning with current affairs discussion

Meeting in the Mosaic Café this will be a monthly chance to meet up with friends, share a coffee and a beigel and then join a current affairs discussion. At each coffee morning  the discussion will be prepared and led by a member of the community this time by Gary Bloom who is a freelance broadcaster and sports commentator. CCJ Yom Hashoah Service  at the OJC

Commemoration of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day)
CCJ Oxford and the OJC join together in this solemn remembrance of the Holocaust. Testimony, music and Hebrew prayers are woven together in a moving ceremony . Post- event refreshments

Mosaic Talk : Art of the Holocaust - An illustrated talk by Irene Wise

Fellow in Holocaust Education at the Imperial War Museum, London and has worked with several other key organizations involved in Holocaust education. These include: Yad Vashem, Beth Shalom, Facing History and the Wiener Library. Irene trained as an artist at Chelsea and the Royal College of Art, gaining the Allen Lane Prize for Design History .
